What is web hosting?
Simply put, websites are “hosted”– meaning stored–on servers. Servers are specialized computers that “serve up” the Web pages that you view. Server companies charge to store website pages (disk space). And, they charge for sending these pages back and forth, which is bandwidth usage.
What makes it green?
“Green” hosting means the servers are powered by green energy instead of fossil fuels. Server farms (the non-green ones) are major causes of pollution.
